Goodbye Leo Sun

May

Depending upon the year, Sun in Leo starts July 21 ~ August 23th,
say farewell to Leo and hello to Virgo.

Do you know any Leo rising people?
They cannot help but be noticed. They radiate a special energy and magnetism that gets others' attention.
Sometimes it's because they are loud people who pay a lot of attention to their personal appearance (especially their hair!); other times it's due to a regal manner that simply demands interest from others.
Leo Ascendant people are very self-aware and body-conscious. They are acutely aware of others, and how they come across. In fact, these people are especially aware of their personal "backdrop"—they consider what the people they're with, and the environments they are in, do to their own image. Often, Leo rising natives feel as if they are on stage, even in the privacy of their very own homes..

That's not fun is it......

Goodbye Leo, Hello & Happy Birthday Virgo!

Traditional Virgo Traits

Modest, shy, meticulous, reliable, practical and diligent
Intelligent & analytical.

It is sometimes thought of as a potentially creative girl, delicately lovely, at times as an older woman, intelligent but rather pedantic and spinsterish.

On the dark side.... Fussy,  a worrier

Overcritical and harsh ~ Perfectionist and conservative

Virgo is the only zodiacal sign represented by a female.

Latter impression is sometimes confirmed by the Virgoan preciseness, refinement, fastidious love of cleanliness, hygiene and good order, conventionality and aristocratic attitude of reserve.

They are usually observant, shrewd, critically inclined, judicious, patient, practical supporters of the status quo, and tend toward conservatism in all departments of life. On the surface they are emotionally cold, and sometimes this goes deeper, for their habit of suppressing their natural kindness may in the end cause it to atrophy, with the result that they shrink from committing themselves to friendship, make few relationships, and those they do make they are careful to keep superficial.

But the outward lack of feeling may, in some individuals born under this sign, conceal too much emotion, to which they are afraid of giving way because they do not trust others, nor do they have confidence in themselves and their judgments.
This is because they are conscious of certain shortcomings in themselves of worldliness, of practicality, of sophistication and of outgoingness.
So they bring the art of self concealment to a high pitch, hiding their apprehensiveness about themselves and their often considerable sympathy with other people under a mantle of matter-of-factness and undemonstrative, quiet reserve. They are still waters that run deep.
Yet in their unassuming, outwardly cheerful and agreeable fashion, they can be sensible, discreet, well spoken, wise and witty, with a good understanding of other people's problems which they can tackle with a practicality not always evident in their own personal relationships.

Hot

"I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair. Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets. Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps. I hunger for your sleek laugh, your hands the color of a savage harvest, hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails, I want to eat your skin like a whole almond. I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body, the sovereign nose of your arrogant face, I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes, and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight, hunting for you, for your hot heart, Like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue." — Pablo Neruda Hot "When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity." — Albert Einstein free counters

Santiva or the cat got my tongue

I've so much I want to say but I can't find my thoughts, there are too many running in my cluttered mind... so I'll just post photos and music poetry (note Poe's name in poe-try the poet not the singer, hey though she is also a poet ) Heaven and Earth In awe of the sky, it was just so beautiful and it changed so rapidly, it maybe a bit wrong for anyone to be as excited as I was when shooting from the car. shame it didn't rain much at all, it's much needed on the island of Sanibel and I could of grabbed a rainbow and or droplets, selfish me. I'm rather sad to not be going there again for my birthday albeit 14 days of intense heat and noseeums was maybe 4 too many. I should of grabbed a ride with Joseph and Donna ... ♪ tindersticks jism free counters

Keeping

Emotions on a leash... this is an image of sunrise in Captiva, a walk alone around the Tween Waters Marina on our last day of vacation in December 2008, I was so taken by the wonderful light and dew on this little boat. ◈ Large view is better "...the shadows are as important as the light... - Jane Eyre" Cruising through looking for songs and quotes I found this on a search I forget my criteria atm as my head has been in the clouds of late; sleep the traitor abandoned me at around 4:30am and for no apparent reason. So I got on flickr and read a heart touching email, I send yesterday's photo to a group and found myself next to a "friend" now if there is a term used loosely it would be "friend" on flickr, and perhaps that's true anywhere on line you say. Let's not debate, I am at a disadvantage...
I've a head full of air ~ to get back , I was going to comment to "friends image" but lo and behold the comment box,  was to no avail ~ the fool has blocked me.. hmm lol.
His invite was only due his amorous (he told me) feelings, not my photos that stirred him, told me I may tell him anything,  so honest that I am, I shared my thoughts w/ him him
regarding his not commenting on my work for a week...   o & boom the axe falls a month later yesterday, I trust the little flag in my group was his.
it feels a wee bit bizarre at best and as they said in Laugh In " interesting but stoopid "
Especially for me to to spend anymore time on it !
Check out A Beautiful Friend on myspace if your so inclined. I love this tune, I'm curious to see if they will add me as a " friend" '~])) Click to zoom in on my visitor map! Create your free world visitor maps

Vitamin D ☼ and Calcium

I was just reading that Calcium and vitamin D can help heartburn well I am glad to hear it; as it has always done so for me. Ha mmm me and my Calsnacks. I wish I could off shipped out a huge bottle (yes they make a gigantic one) of it across the pond, regulations didn't allow it ..
Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble prohormones, the two major forms of which are vitamin D2 (or ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (or cholecalciferol).[1] The term vitamin D also refers to metabolites and other analogues of these substances. Vitamin D3 is produced in skin exposed to sunlight, specifically ultraviolet B radiation. Vitamin D plays an important role in the maintenance of organ systems.[2] Vitamin D regulates the calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood by promoting their absorption from food in the intestines, and by promoting re-absorption of calcium in the kidneys, which enables normal mineralization of bone and prevents hypocalcemic tetany. It is also needed for bone growth and bone remodeling by osteoblasts and osteoclasts.[3][4]. In the absence of vitamin K or with drugs (particularly blood thinners) that interfere with Vitamin K metabolism, Vitamin D can promote soft tissue calcification.[5] It inhibits parathyroid hormone secretion from the parathyroid gland.[6][7] Vitamin D affects the immune system by promoting phagocytosis, anti-tumor activity, and immunomodulatory functions. [8] Vitamin D deficiency can result from inadequate intake coupled with inadequate sunlight exposure, disorders that limit its absorption, conditions that impair conversion of vitamin D into active metabolites, such as liver or kidney disorders, or, rarely, by a number of hereditary disorders.[2] Deficiency results in impaired bone mineralization, and leads to bone softening diseases, rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults, and possibly contributes to osteoporosis. (1)*However, sunlight exposure, to avoid deficiency, carries other risks, including skin cancer; this risk is avoided with dietary absorption, either through diet or as a dietary supplement.
quoted from wikipedia (1)*10 minutes of sun on the face and hands shouldn't be too bad, I'm not prone to research at the moment, but there is also the thinking that in countries where women expose their breast to sunlight (no, not just a quickie flash ;) have less incidence of breast cancer. As with most things, in moderation is perhaps the best route , and little sunshine goes a long, long way. I simply love this group; Cousteau, I discovered them a couple of years ago whilst posting a comment to Richard Hawley's mysapce, the manager of RH's page, managed them as well, the lead vocals enthrall me, if you have the time check them out.
